We have been serving the
Edmonton community since
2001; offering safe and
affordable transportation to
seniors with the assistance of
our volunteer drivers. Our
volunteers have been giving
20,000 volunteer hours a year.
The need is here because by the
age of 80, 72% of seniors are
living without a family member
nearby; they lack transportation,
and have poor health. Most are
living independently in their own
home, lodge or apartment. These
seniors have been the pillars of
our society and as elders have a
very important, unique and
valuable role while continuing to
develop our healthy Alberta. In
return our society needs to
respect, support and honour
these senior citizens.

Management Introduction
(Formerly) Seniors Driving Centre of Edmonton

Seniors Assisted Transportation Society of Greater Edmonton(SATS) is a non-profit
organization for older seniors who need help with transportation. The volunteer driver picks up
the senior at their door and then takes them to doctors, hospitals, shopping, banks, and other
appointments. The cost of services is a yearly membership of $20.00  plus a $7.00 ticket for
trips of 2 hours or less. An assessment of need is required and an application must be
completed prior to the first service. We cover volunteer drivers gas cost with a pre-set fee of
$10.00 to $20.00 a trip.
Vision
Older seniors and all seniors with health / physical limitations are able to stay in the community
longer and remain engaged in activities that contribute positively to their quality of life.
Objective
To drive frail and needy seniors to and from their vital appointments in the Greater Edmonton
area.
Mission
Our mission is to assist seniors, as identified in our target audiences, in maintaining their
independence and quality of life by staying engaged in the community for as long as practical
through the assistance of volunteers helping them to participate in essential appointments, key
services and social engagements.
